It was a fiercely fought battle to win the favor of the crowd. Jossi Wells (NZL) tried to win the hearts of the female audience by performing with no shirt and flexing his muscles while local hero Elias Ambuehl (SUI) performed a double cork – in a bunny suit…
The final round was – in true crossover tradition – up to four completely different branches and each athlete was determined to fly the flag for his colleagues: Sebastien Toutant (CAN) for the Snowboarders, the Swiss rising star Kai Mahler for the Freeskiers, Tom Pages (FRA) for FMX and Vince Bryon (AUS) for BMX.
Only Vince Byron’s (AUS) mindblowing Triple Table Backflip & Flair on his BMX could top Tom Pages’ heartstopping Body Varial on his motocross bike. Vince Byron won over the 35′000 spectators who crowned him the well-deserved crossover.champ 2011!

All eyes are on Zurich for Europe’s biggest freestyle sports competition! The freestyle.ch 2011 unites the elite riders in the Freestyle disciplines of Snowboarding, Freeskiing, FMX, and Skateboarding.
In FMX Dany Torres (ESP), Maikel Melero (ESP), Tom Pages (FRA), Hannes Ackermann (GER), Petr Pialt (CZE) and Mat Rebeaud (SUI) progressed through to the Semifinals. DanyTorres has been enjoying his greatest season yet, with him being crowned the Overall Champion of the Red Bull X-Fighters Tour 2011 recently. Mat Rebeaud didn’t want to let his fans down and even competes with a partially fractured femoral!

The Nike 6.0 outerwear team hit freestyle.ch on September 25/26.

Check out the video to see Peetu Piiroinen and Gjermund Braaten hammering down tricks in Zurich, Switzerland.
Peetu took 3rd place and 19 year old youngun Gjermund won the snowboard big-air contest to take home the 10.000 € prize-money.
